Test Cases For Mobile Phones: This post explains some of the test cases for mobile phones. For simplicity, we are choosing a smartphone (touchscreen). Testing the hardware components, like the screen, buttons, and battery, as well as software features, such as the operating system and apps, are essential to creating successful test cases. Don’t overlook this invaluable step in the quality assurance process – it might just make or break your mobile phone’s success!
Mobile Phone Test Cases For Touchscreen
- Check if the natural gestures work for the phone’s swipe functions.
- Check if the touch gestures work for the phone setting.
- Check if the launch icons for software work with a touchscreen.
- Check if the idle applications can be removed from the queue.
- Check if the idle applications are possible to open with a touch.
Test Cases For Mobile Volume Buttons
- Check if the top press on the button increases volume.
- Check if the down press on the button decreases volume.
- Check if pressing the entire button opens up the volume bar.
Test Scenarios For Mobile Phone Power Button
- Check if the power button opens a menu for the restart, shutdown, and other boot options.
- Check if the power button pressing once locks the phone.
- Check if the power button pressing turns off the light.
- Press the power button to check if the idle phone can be booted up.

- Check if the radio of the phone requires an audio connector.
- Check if connecting headphones can enable the phone’s radio.

- Check if the USB plug accepts the wire for charging as per specification.
- Check if the USB plug accepts the wire of different companies but with the same specification.

- Check the signal and network strength in different regions.

- Check if the phone allows a dial pad for making a call.

- Check when putting high pressure on the Mobile for a particular time to do the bend test.

- Check the mobile stress testing by dropping the Mobile down from a practical height.

- Check the correct insertion of the Battery cell.
- Check the proper operation of the cell phone’s Switch ON and OFF functions.
- Check the correct insertion of the SIM Card on the cell.
- Check the correct insertion of one contact name and phone number in the Address book.
- Check the successful operation of the Incoming call.
- Check the successful operation of the outgoing call.
- Check the successful operation of sending and receiving Short Messages.
- Check the correct selection & display of all Numbers and special characters.
- Check the successful deletion of the contact name and phone number from the Address book.
- Check the successful capturing of the Home Network from the service provider.
- Check the successful connectivity of the GPRS facility is supported on the cell.
- Check the successful connectivity of the EDGE facility is supported on the cell phone.
- Verify whether the power button is ON when you are pushing it.
- Click the number and verify whether the numbers are visible on display.
- Remove the battery and confirm whether Step 1 is working or not.
- Verify whether it is user-friendly or not by clicking the menu.
- Select the menu button and check whether it is navigating the desired point or not (like menu->messages->new, inbox, outbox, draft … etc.
- Select the menu, go to messages, then go to a new message, write something, and verify whether it is visible in the display; if you require more, I can write more.
- Check whether the mobile is switched on.

- Check whether the mobile is connected to the proper network

- Check whether the mobile has got enough battery.
- Check when the mobile does not have enough kindly battery power; the mobile.
- Check whether the mobile is connected with a prepaid or postpaid connection.
- Check whether the mobile has got enough balance.
- Verify if the mobile has insufficient balance; kindly recharge the mobile.
- Check when you press the keypad. It displays as unlock the keypad.
- Check whether the display helps us to click the correct button to unlock the keypad.
- Check whether the user clicks as per the direction given to him; the keypad opens.
- Check that the user can now type anything on the mobile, whether it is displayed on the screen.
- Check whether the user can call only the valid numbers
- Check if the user calls an invalid when he hears the invalid number beep.
- Check whether the user types the valid numbers and presses the call button; it is connected.
- Check whether mobile buttons are working smoothly and properly.
- Check Whether the mobile screen is sliding smoothly or not.
- Check whether a user profile works correctly according to a user selection (e.g., meeting, outdoor, silent, etc.)
- Check users can install new external software.
- Check users can use the installed software properly.
- Check all by-default software on mobile is working correctly (calendar, calculator, audio & video recording )
